UB’s 2013 Employees Campaign for the Community has raised $644,397, or 76 percent of its goal of $850,000.
The amount raised as of Dec. 4 is based on the response of 40 percent of UB employees who have either made a gift or declined.
The campaign features a number of incentives to encourage employee to donate to the campaign. Only those individuals who have made a donation to the campaign are eligible to win. Prizes will be awarded every Thursday and all employees who make a donation by midnight the previous night will be eligible to win. Winners will be posted on the campaign website under “news.”
The winners of the Dec. 5 drawing are Judith Paradzai of Campus Dining and Shops, who received four tickets to the April 26 Distinguished Speaker Series event with magician David Blaine, and Jeffrey Kujawa of the Center for Urban Studies, who received six tickets to the men’s basketball game on Jan. 11 against Eastern Michigan and food at the game.
The final prizes, to be awarded on Dec. 12, are a special parking pass for the spring 2014 semester; SaveAround coupon books offering discounts on food, recreation and entertainment in Western New York, to be awarded to three employees; and a $50 Tim Hortons gift certificate.
In addition to the individual prizes, a grand prize was awarded on Nov. 20 to the Graduate School of Education for having the highest percentage increase in donors from Nov. 4 through Nov. 20. That prize was 16 tickets — for eight employees and their guests — plus parking to the UB Bulls football game vs. Bowling Green on Nov. 29 in Ralph Wilson Stadium.
