Employees Campaign for the Community
The Employees Campaign for the Community enjoys a longstanding tradition of excellence. Begun in 1976 as the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA), it provides the means for all employees of the university to make a meaningful contribution to the university’s commitment to service. The Campaign reflects UB’s engagement with its communities and the neighbors whom we live with and serve.
The campaign is held each fall and consistently ranks among the nation’s leaders of colleges and universities in charitable giving. With more than 600 health, human services, educational, environmental and cultural organizations available for UB donors to choose from, over 80% of the money raised by UB employees is designated to stay right here in the Buffalo Niagara region. These donations positively affect tens of thousands of our fellow citizens by providing programs and services that align closely with UB’s priorities for community impact in the areas of pre-K-16 education, health and wellness, neighborhoods, and economic development.
Message from Scott D. Nostaja, Campaign Chair
UB’s faculty and staff have a long-standing reputation for outstanding support of UB’s annual employees campaign. Among local companies and organizations, UB consistently has the most generous employees campaign. The generosity of UB employees also is recognized nationally; our annual campaign ranks among the most generous among colleges and universities.
UB’s 2009 Employees Campaign for the Community offers you the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of individuals assisted by more than 600 programs and agencies in our community and beyond. I encourage you to join me and your colleagues across UB’s three campuses in participating in UB’s 2009 Employees Campaign for the Community. Together, we can help build a stronger future for our neighbors, families, and friends.
