UB’s 2013 Employees Campaign for the Community has raised $697,903, or 82 percent of its goal of $850,000.

The amount raised as of Dec. 11 is based on the response of 43 percent of UB employees who have either made a gift or declined.

The campaign has featured a number of incentives to encourage employee to donate to the campaign. Only those individuals who have made a donation to the campaign were eligible to win. Prizes were awarded every Thursday and all employees who made a donation by midnight the previous night were eligible to win. Winners are posted on the campaign website under “news.”

The winners of the final drawing of the campaign on Dec. 12 were unavailable at press time. The prizes to be awarded are a special parking pass for the spring 2014 semester; SaveAround coupon books offering discounts on food, recreation and entertainment in Western New York, to be awarded to three employees; and a $50 Tim Hortons gift certificate.

The campaign runs through the end of the semester. Austin Booth, vice provost for university libraries, is campaign chair.
