Have you tried an exercise program and felt out of place? Want support to stay motivated?

Researchers in the School of Public Health and Health Professions’ Community Health Interventions Lab are looking for women ages 18-64 who are overweight to take part in a study to determine if an exercise program that focuses on enjoyment, rather than weight loss, can lead to sustained participation over the long term.

Eligible participants will receive a free six-month YMCA membership with access to all YMCA fitness classes and amenities. Those who complete the study will also receive $70 over six months.

Some participants will be selected to participate at the Ken-Ton YMCA in a special exercise program for women with limited exercise experience.

UB faculty, staff and students who are interested in participating can call 716-829-5959, send an email to FitandFabStudy@gmail.com  or take an online eligibility survey. Those who are eligible to participate will be contacted.
