The New York Times weekly newsletter “The Well” sought out the research expertise of Mark Seery for insight into getting through the rest of winter. “By this time of year, winter can feel like it drags,” Seery says. But telling yourself that “this is going to be crap for the next month,” is not the best strategy, he added. Instead, he recommends “finding things you can control around the edges” and noted that “Social connection works for almost any sort of stressor.”
