Introduction to Lean Six Sigma

This asynchronous course introduces participants to the principles, tools, and methodology of Lean Six Sigma to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality in processes across any industry.  A data-driven approach to decision-making is emphasized so learners will have the tools necessary to contribute and sustain process improvement initiatives within their organization.

Topics include:

  • Overview of Six Sigma Methodology
  • Tenets of Lean Thinking
  • Steps and tools used in problem solving

The course features access to online lectures, conversations about Lean Six Sigma, and perspectives from industry professionals in addition to a physical coursebook for you to keep.  Thought provoking questions at the end of each section allow you to reflect and assess your knowledge gained through the course.

  • Explain the 5 steps of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology (DMAIC)
  • Identify the critical elements of a project charter
  • Describe the importance of data collection
  • Analyze data to determine the root cause of problems
  • Discuss the importance of verifying improvements

Course Schedule

This course is offered online on a rolling monthly start basis.

Start at the beginning of any month as long as you paid and enrolled by the 15th day of the preceding month.

Materials and course access will be sent by the first Monday of the next month, if payment is received on time.
