Dodgeball Tournament
Dodgeball is a team sport in which players on two teams try to throw balls and hit opponents, while avoiding being hit themselves.

The Competition
The objective of each team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls, catching a ball thrown by an opponent, or inducing an opponent to commit a violation, such as stepping outside the court.
- A team consists of 6 players, all of whom must be wearing athletic attire. Only sneakers will be allowed, no boots or sandals will be permitted.
- Teams will only consist of 6 players, no substitutions! Captain must have 6 people to register team.
- Clock starts at Game Time - It is suggested you do not leave the Triple Gym. If your team is called and you aren't ready for your match, you will forefit.
- A match consists of the best of 3 games. Each game will last a maximum of 5 minutes. The game is over when all of a team’s players are eliminated or if time elapses, the team with the most players left on the court wins.
- Each team will be divided by the centerline and must stay within that centerline, sidelines, and their end line.
- At any time within a game, the Court Official may decrease the boundaries as to speed up play. Cone will be moved as necessary.
- Games will begin with four dodgeballs being placed at the centerline, and participants lined up behind their respective end line.
- Upon the Court Official’s whistle, players may run up to the centerline to get the balls, but no ball may be thrown until it has been brought back behind the designated secondary line.
- Players may only leave the confines of their boundary to retrieve stray balls.
- Players retrieving stray balls may not throw balls or be thrown at until they are back within the boundary lines.
- Players holding a ball may bat away thrown balls with that ball. However, if they drop the held ball on contact with the thrown ball then they are out. If a ball is caught, the thrower is out and any members on the team may come back in.
- Players may not stall and must throw available balls within a reasonable period (approx. 10 seconds) or they will turn the ball over to their opponents.
- Once a team has eliminated three opponents (or once two opponents are remaining), that team’s offensive boundaries are extended all the way up to their opponent’s secondary line.

UB Intramural Sports is bringing you another fun competition to show off your agility!
Our Dodgeball Tournament is hosted in the Alumni Arena Ed Wright Practice Facility (Triple Gym) and is open to UB Students. When registration opens, sign-up and pay the $27.50 team fee online to secure your spot.
All participants will receive:
- Intramural Sports T-Shirt
- Chance to WIN the overall prize, (6*) $20 Gift Certificate to the Bulls Team Shop. *One certificate per player.
