Get ready for one of the most energetic nights of the semester. Grab your friends, build a team, and compete in a fast-paced Broomball Tournament in the Ed Wright Practice Facility. No experience needed. Just bring your team spirit and get ready for some fun competition.
Each team must have 6 players on the court at a time with a maximum roster of 9 players.

Start of the Game: Each game begins with a face-off at center court.
Moving the Ball: Players move the ball by passing, dribbling, or shooting using their broom. Kicking the ball into the goal is not allowed.
Scoring: A goal is counted when the entire ball crosses the goal line.
Goalie: The goalie typically stays in the crease area. Goalies may use their body to block shots.
Physical Contact: Checking and rough contact are not allowed. Broomball is meant to be competitive but safe.
Game Format: Games will typically be played in two halves of 15–20 minutes each, ot three short periods depending on tournament flow.
Common Fouls: Players may be penalized for high sticking (raising the broom above waist or shoulder level depending on rules), tripping, holding or pushing, intentionally kicking the ball.
Teams must register in advance through IMLeagues. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. All participants must meet UB Intramural Sports eligibility requirements.
