We welcome our new faculty and offer a New Faculty Orientation to support your transition to UB and connect you with resources across campus. This annual event introduces you to our leadership and some of our academic, research, and teaching support services and resources.

The NFO introduces new faculty to an array of UB support services, including information pertinent to

  • research and teaching and educational technology;
  • faculty success, including  the promotion and tenure process and award recognition;
  • research collaboration and entrepreneurial endeavors from the Research and Economic Development office;
  • UB IT’s services, infrastructure and strategic initiatives;
  • the Libraries’ faculty and teaching support services, subject specialists and extensive resources;
  • diversity, inclusion, and international education services; and
  • CATT’s expertise in curriculum and instruction and assessment and reporting, among others.

It also features two panels, one of recently tenured faculty and a second panel of recently promoted clinical and teaching faculty colleagues, who offer their advice about succeeding at UB.  New faculty will also have an opportunity to meet the President and Provost, several university administrators and some of our accomplished faculty who will impart advice about succeeding at UB.
