Media Advisory: Tripathi to deliver 10th State of the University address Oct. 8

BUFFALO, N.Y. — University at Buffalo President Satish K. Tripathi will deliver his 10th State of the University address at 11 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 8, in the Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall on the university’s North Campus.

Tripathi will review the significant progress UB has made in the past year, its 175th, including the university’s response to the pandemic and efforts to increase diversity and inclusion throughout the university. And he will look ahead as UB continues to move forward with its ambition to be a top-25 public research university.

Members of the media are invited to cover Tripathi’s address, which will be attended by members of the university community. Tripathi will be available for media interviews immediately following his address.

The State of the University is not considered a public event. Therefore, attendees will not be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. All attendees, including media, must wear a face covering in accordance with UB, CDC and Erie County Department of Health guidelines.

Press attending Friday’s event should also complete the Daily Health Check prior to coming to campus.
