    Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Demetrius Bell was looking forward to the team' first game of the 2009 regular season, having spent his entire rookie season the year before on the inactive roster. Bell had earned the left tackle spot for the opener against the New England Patriots, his first NFL career start. The Bills lost 25-24, but No. 77 went on to start in five more games that fall. It was during his sixth game that Bell suffered a knee injury that took him out of the game and off the playing field for nearly a year.
  • Peace Bridge Will Light Up True Blue and White to Honor Inauguration of UB's 15th President

    The Buffalo and Fort Erie Peace Bridge Authority will bathe the Peace Bridge in blue and white lights from 8 p.m. Sept. 19 to 2 a.m. Sept. 20 to salute the inauguration of Satish K Tripathi, PhD, 15th president of the University at Buffalo, and in recognition of Inauguration Week at UB, Sept. 19-24.

    A cardiac condition called atrial fibrillation, the most common cardiac arrhythmia, can increase your risk of stroke by 500 percent. That's why Anne B. Curtis, MD, Charles and Mary Bauer Professor and Chair of the University at Buffalo Department of Medicine, is helping to raise public awareness of the condition during September through the Heart Rhythm Society's AF Awareness Month.

    A colorful ceremony rich in tradition and pageantry will mark the formal investiture of Satish K. Tripathi as the University at Buffalo's 15th president at 3 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Center of the Arts on the UB North Campus. The ceremony will be followed by a public reception in the center's atrium.

    The Center for the Arts at University at Buffalo will present Back to Buffalo 3: The UB Dance Alumni All-Star Concert on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. in the Drama Theatre in the Center for the Arts, UB North Campus. The performance is sponsored by the UB Alumni Association.
