State University of New York Chancellor John R. Ryan has announced that the world's first completely online Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (BEE) program is being offered this fall by the University at Buffalo's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and by the engineering schools of Binghamton University and Stony Brook University.

This fall, teachers in Ohio won't have to drive across state lines in order to earn a master's degree in education from the University at Buffalo. The UB Graduate School of Education's 33-credit online program, which has been offered to New York State teachers for more than five years, will be available to Ohio educators starting with the fall 2006 semester.

The inaugural issues of a new Institute Policy Brief series, prepared by the University at Buffalo Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth, contain key findings on two important regional issues -- youth demographics and the binational economy.

Kathryn R. Costello has been appointed vice president for development at the University at Buffalo. Her appointment is effective Sept. 1.
