    Luis A. Colon, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo, is receiving the 2009 AAAS Mentor Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world's largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal Science.

  • UB Police Conclude There is No Threat to Campus; Operations Return to Normal

    The investigation is continuing after yesterday's evacuation of Lockwood Library, but UB Police say they were not able to confirm there was a man with a gun on campus and there is no longer a threat to the university community.
  • (Update 8:30 p.m.) Search of Library Completed; No Suspicious Person Found

    At 7:45 p.m. the UB Police Department completed their search of Lockwood Library and no suspicious person was found. UB Police say that there is no threat to the campus. The library will remain closed for the evening. UB Police are available until 9:30 p.m. tonight to escort any student or staff member who may have left belongings in the building.
  • Jump Rhythm Jazz Project to Perform as Part of UB's M&T Bank Dance Series

    The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Jump Rhythm Jazz Project on March 19 at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, Center for the Arts, North Campus. The performance is sponsored by M&T Bank. There will be a pre-performance talk at 7 p.m.
