UB School of Law Teaching Faculty member Helen “Nellie” Drew told high school students that freedom of expression is protected by the First Amendment as part of her keynote speech for the Sixth Annual James Otis Lecture Oct. 3.
The University at Buffalo will recognize 12 distinguished alumni at the UB Alumni Association Achievement Awards ceremony to be held at Oct. 12 in the UB Center for the Arts.
UB was recognized for its ability to generate its own green power thanks to the Solar Strand, SteelWinds and other efforts, as well as its leadership of the Localizing Buffalo’s Renewable Energy Future initiative.
The University at Buffalo has accepted the first cohort of fellows into the Global Infectious Diseases Research Training Program, a $1.1 million program formed to train 15 scientists from the Caribbean in viral infection research.
