Lab FAQs
Lab Safety Training is a requirement for all persons working in a lab at or affiliated with UB. Training is held annually downtown at the Incubator @ CBLS. Note that you do NOT need to be affiliated with UB to take the training held at the CBLS. Persons with UBIT names/person numbers can attend any training that is offered through EH&S.

Please send your chemical inventory list to Asal Barem. Chemical inventory lists are then shared with the North Bailey Fire Department.
Chemical Inventory lists should be sent at least semi-annually, or whenever there is a change in the quantity of chemicals in your lab.
Lab/door signs are created and printed by Asal Barem. Please submit an inquiry to Asal Barem at asalbare@buffalo.edu or 716-645-1395.
A lab/door sign is required if you have any hazard materials in your lab such as biohazards, compressed gas, flammable liquids, corrosive liquids, etc.
Hazardous chemical waste disposal is the responsibility of the client. We recommend working with a local vendor, such as Tonawanda Tank, to set up an account.
To dispose of biohazardous waste, an account with AdvoWaste is required. Please contact Asal Barem at asalbare@buffalo.edu or 716-645-1395 for information on setting up your account.
