Introduction

  • Despite its benefits, handwashing remains infrequently practiced in household and community settings [1–3]
  • Few evaluations of large-scale handwashing promotion programs in community setting exist [4]
  • Previous evaluations: small-scale, limited statistical power [5], did not capture intervention’s effect on an on-going basis [4,6]
  • This study assesses the effect of a large-scale WASH intervention in the ICVB program
