DIETARY CONTRIBUTORS OF SELECTED PESTICIDES

Introduction
- Pyrethroids and the organophosphate pesticides, profenofos and chlorpyrifos, are commonly used in agriculture and have been detected in foods.
- Biomarkers/ metabolites of the selected pesticides (e.g. TCPy, DCCA, PBA and BCP), can be used to detect the presence of pesticides in the body.
- Purpose of review: Identify the dietary contribution of the three selected pesticides, in children from the general population, aged 2 to 11 years old.
