    About CII
    10/11/22
The CII will provide support for collaborative research, public discussions and community outreach on mis/disinformation awareness and resilience, with a focus on these key challenges:
  • Photo of James Gardner. Bloomberg interviewed CII’s James Gardner for an article about how the Republican party might handle the scandal surrounding newly elected congressman George Santos, who has admitted to major fabrications on his resume. Gardner said Santos could face legal trouble if he lied on federal campaign paperwork. Santos could also face ethics trouble in Congress, “Expulsion is a political mechanism, but on the other hand it's meant to be a vehicle for enforcing ethical standards," Gardner said. "So what will be the politics of it if Republicans have an extremely narrow majority and this guy is a part of that narrow majority?” Bloomberg logo.

  • Hey Google, Are Robots Racist? The Hidden Bias of our AI-Assisted World AIs help us in so many ways. They answer our questions. They suggest music, books, and other items based on what we already like. They find us the fastest way to reach our destinations, and match people who need a ride with people who are available to give a ride. They make our lives more convenient. But are they fair? Let’s talk about it. Image of Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons sweeping February 18th | 12:00-1:30 pm | FREE Buffalo Museum of Science.
