Learning About Your Genome was a 4-week series hosted by CII Members Jamal Williams and Jennifer Surtees at the Delavan-Grider Community Center this fall.

Each session was approximately 1 hour on a Wednesday evening, 6:00-7:00pm. Dinner was provided for participants.

  • Oct. 4: What is a genome and why is it important for your health?
  • Oct. 11: How to spot scientific misinfomration
  • Oct. 25: What makes our genome unique?
  • Nov. 1: Paint your genome

The events were well attended and participants expressed satisfaction with the experience. We hope this will be the first of many programs done in cooperation with the Buffalo East Side community.

The series was highlighted in a UB Now article.
