Dr. Stephanie Fredrick is an Associate Professor of School Psychology and Associate Director of the Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Her research focuses on risk and protective factors related to bullying and cyberbullying, youth digital media use, and school-based mental health prevention.
Fredrick has authored more than 50 publications and book chapters on topics related to bullying, cyberbullying, and youth mental health. She is the lead author of Cyberbullying: Helping Children Navigate Digital Technology and Social Media and co-author of Bystander Intervention in Bullying and Peer Victimization. She is committed to translating research into practice and regularly partners with schools to provide consultation and professional development.
Fredrick has delivered over 100 professional presentations for educators, mental health professionals, youth and families on bullying, cyberbullying, digital media use, school climate, and youth mental health. She is also a licensed psychologist in New York State, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of School Psychology. Dr. Fredrick previously worked as a school psychologist in Illinois before beginning her career in academia in 2016.
