Cheryl Emerson.

Cheryl A. Emerson is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UB School of Management, where she teaches the CL2 course in business communication.

Cheryl is also a faculty member of the Center for Leadership and Global Impact, serving as a co-instructor for the School of Management’s Undergraduate Honors Program and the Jordan A. Daniels Nonprofit Board Fellowship, an experiential learning program that pairs UB students with local non-profit organizations working towards positive social change.

Before joining the School of Management, Cheryl completed a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University at Buffalo, with interests in French phenomenology, feminist poetics, and critical race and gender theory. Her dissertation, The Flesh of Forgetting: Contemporary Women’s Poetry at the Intersections of Language, History, and Embodiment, engages philosophy and literature to explore possibilities of an embodied feminist poetics.
