More than 40 students representing all five School of Public Health and Health Professions departments presented their research findings, answered questions and met with their colleagues to discuss next steps in their research at this year's Perry Poster Day, April 23.
The event is an annual celebration showcasing graduate student research, integrative projects and service work from across all SPHHP departments. Throughout the event, students present and discuss their posters with a school-wide audience. Topics can range from maternal health, environmental contaminants and addiction behaviors to heat acclimation, rehabilitation strategies and much more. Each department recognizes one or more outstanding posters, with select winners receiving a cash prize.
Perry Poster Day is one of several important events honoring prolific and accomplished scholar, administrator, author and lecturer J. Warren Perry. He was founding dean of UB’s School of Health Related Professions, which later joined with the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine to become the School of Public Health and Health Professions.
