“Knowing, Being, Doing: Building a Diverse and Inclusive Community at UB” is the title of the Professional Staff Senate’s inaugural inclusion and diversity conference being held June 20.

The conference, which will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is open to all members of UB’s professional staff. The cost is $35; lunch is included.

The conference aims to:

  • Increase awareness of how one’s multiple identities impact their work at UB.
  • Introduce — or reintroduce — participants to diversity theories and models that help guide daily interactions with others across differences.
  • Help attendees engage in diversity- and inclusion-related conversations with colleagues.
  • Identify institutional policies and procedures that help create and build an inclusive campus community.

The conference is hosted by the PSS’ Inclusion & Diversity Committee, in collaboration with the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
