Campaign for the Community
About the Campaign
The UB Employees Campaign for the Community started in 1976 as part of the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA). For over 45 years, the campaign has given all university employees and retirees a way to make a meaningful contribution to charitable organizations worldwide.
Our campaign consistently ranks among the most successful of its kind among the nation’s colleges and universities. UB donors can choose to contribute to any of more than 2,800 health, human service, educational, environmental and cultural organizations. Historically, over 80 percent of the money raised through the campaign has been designated for agencies in the Buffalo-Niagara region. These donations help tens of thousands of our fellow community members by providing services that align closely with UB’s priorities for community engagement in the areas of health and wellness, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and pre-K-16 education.
Dear UB Colleagues,
We are honored to serve as chair and vice chair of the 2026 UB Employees Campaign for the Community. Each year, UB faculty and staff come together to support organizations and causes that make a difference across our region. That generosity is an important part of who we are as a university and our connection to the communities around us.
This year, we invite you to continue that tradition by supporting the causes that matter most to you. Through the Campaign for the Community, you can choose from a wide range of organizations working to advance health and wellness, support children and families, promote education and literacy, protect our environment, and strengthen communities throughout the Buffalo Niagara region and beyond.
Every contribution helps these organizations continue the important work they do in our communities. Your support can help provide a child with opportunities to succeed, give a family access to the resources they need, or help a local organization expand its reach and impact. Together, these contributions help strengthen the communities we all call home.
We hope you’ll join us in making the 2026 UB Employees Campaign for the Community another example of the impact UB faculty and staff can make across our community. This year we invite you to search the directory of organizations that are in the Buffalo Niagara region, especially those smaller organizations that do not have a national footprint, but make a definite difference every day in the lives of those in our local community.
