Areas of focus

UB Chemistry Professor Diana Aga was among a team of researchers who found elevated levels of two industrial pollutants in carp in eastern Lake Erie, findings that helped demonstrate the lasting environmental impact of human activity and waste disposal on the Great Lakes.

Our sustainability scholarship is helping plan for disasters and for transportation and food access in Western New York and beyond.

From the meadows of the High Sierras to the shores of Cattauraugus Creek, our research examines our changing environment and what we can do about it.

Technology is and will be a solution to our global sustainability challenges. At UB, we are leading the way with advances in solar and energy related innovations.
