Student Union Construction Underway

Phased construction of the North Campus Student Union has commenced and will continue through the anticipated project completion during the spring of 2025.

Current Updates - Phase 1

Artist rendering: ground level lounge spaces.

Kick-off work for the new vestibule, furniture relocation, temporary walls, 3rd floor staircase work, and temporary closure of the bridge to Commons.

Phase 2: Winter'23-24

Dining furniture (south half) and new separation walls.

Phase 3: Fall 2024

Artist rendering: ground level dining area and walkways.

Updated ceiling, floor and walls; vestibule wall removal; and expansion foundations.

Service Updates

Currently, all building services and access points are available. There will be drilling and welding of the new third floor railings which will create quite a bit of noise.  This work will take place on Thursday, April 18 as well as Monday and Tuesday, April 22 & 23.   We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • Construction is underway.
  • Pedestrian bridge/walkway to Commons (2nd floor): closed.
  • Bicycle racks:  alternate locations remain available.
  • Welcome Center: relocated near 150 S. Union.
  • Mailboxes: relocated near 228 S. Union.
