Student Life Departments

At Student Life, we are proud to be leading the UB experience. Each of our units plays a critical role in providing the support and resources you need to thrive at UB and beyond.

Accessibility Resources helps enrich the university experience for all by supporting full participation for those with disabilities. We work closely with partners throughout the campus to implement reasonable accommodations to help ensure equal access to educational opportunities, programs, facilities and jobs. While most of our service goes to students, we also arrange reasonable accommodations for faculty, staff and campus visitors with disabilities.
From the first time a student steps on campus, Campus Life is here to support them, provide exceptional opportunities for them to get involved in the university community, and help them thrive outside of the classroom.
Counseling Services helps UB students manage college — and life. Here, students always have someone to talk to about any emotional issues, including dealing with stress, handling a crisis, or coping with the transition to the university. As the university’s mental health agency for students, Counseling Services provides individual counseling, group counseling and workshops for students with a wide range of concerns, from developmental issues to severe psychopathology.
Off-Campus Student Services is dedicated to serving students who choose to live off-campus while attending UB. We help ensure that all students live in a safe, welcoming environment where they can learn life skills, enhance their personal development, engage in their communities and achieve their academic goals. Together, we are turning UB students into good neighbors — both on and off campus.
Orientation, Transition and Parent Programs helps new undergraduate students get started at UB. We provide students with proven strategies for academic success, a strong foundation for personal development, and connections to people and resources early in their UB experience.
Student Conduct and Advocacy helps maintain a just, safe and orderly campus for the UB community. We establish rules and regulations for the community, manage a variety of disciplinary processes, oversee community service sanctions and provide support and resources to students.
The Student Engagement office works to develop student understanding and appreciation of self, others and community by inspiring students to explore a life of purpose and active citizenship. Through our programs, services and the process of leadership development, students cultivate a personal philosophy to make a positive change within a group, community or global society.
Student Health Services provides high-quality medical services and patient education for all UB students. Our team of health care providers — including board-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and medical support staff — offers primary care, preventative treatment and specialty services designed to meet the needs of our students.
Veteran Services is a comfortable, welcoming place where student veterans and eligible dependents can get help with benefits, talk with someone who can handle administrative issues, and relax with their “brothers and sisters.” We are here to help veterans balance college life with their military, career, family and personal goals — and to let veterans know that they are not alone.
Wellness Education Services actively promotes student well-being — a key factor in academic success and long-term happiness. Students can visit our Wellness Suite in the Student Union, get involved with wellness through experiential learning opportunities, and help us promote inclusion and social justice throughout the UB community. Our four main areas of focus include alcohol, tobacco and other drug harm reduction; healthy eating; rape and sexual assault prevention; and stress reduction.
