As a free and confidential resource, the Campus Advocate provides support in each step you decide to take, for issues on- and off-campus.

What Can the Campus Advocate Do for You?

  • Explanation of available options and victim’s rights.
  • Assistance with reporting, accommodations and the campus judicial processes.
  • Law enforcement and criminal court advocacy.
  • Assistance with campus and community referrals.
  • Supportive counseling and safety planning.

Additional Options for Survivors

  • Victims of sexual or domestic violence also have the option of going to their local emergency room for services.
    • Any individual who has experienced sexual assault has the right to receive a Sexual Assault Forensic Examination, free of charge through the NYS Office of Victims Services, and can receive this exam at any emergency department in Erie County. Survivors also have the right to have an Advocate present during their exam.
  • A Title IX report can also be made if a person wishes to go through campus conduct policy.
    • The campus advocate would be able to assist by accompanying a person to any meetings they may have along the process as well as provide information on what the process entails.

All services are free, confidential and voluntary to all members of the campus community who have experienced stalking, sexual violence or domestic violence. 

Connecting with the Campus Advocate

  • To connect with the Campus Advocate, you may do so directly by dropping by the office, sending an email, calling or texting. See below for contact information.
  • To refer someone for services, please complete the Authorization for Release of Information with the individual who is interested in services. 
  • Once the form has been completed, please email it directly to the Campus Advocate or drop the form off with the Advocate in 315 Michael Hall.
  • To speak with someone outside of Campus Advocate hours, you can call into the Crisis Services 24-Hour Hotline at (716) 834-3131 or utilize the Crisis Chatline found on the Crisis Services website.
    • Campus Advocate Hours: 
      • Mon., Tue., Wed., Fri.: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      • Thu.: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For Presentation Requests and Tabling

Please refer to the Crisis Services website to see a list of the available presentations and complete the request form at least 14 days prior to when you wish to hold the presentation. 

We are also available to table at events where information about our services would be beneficial to the community. We ask that we are contacted at least 14 days in advance of the event.
