Large-scale wooden sculptures constructed by freshmen architecture students adorn the lobby of Hayes Hall on the South Campus. The forms depict such common, everyday items as teapots, clothespins and fountain pens.



Graduate tuition policy criticized
FSEC disputes new policy requiring grad student tuition to be included in grants

Members of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee have expressed in no uncertain terms their overwhelming displeasure with a policy issued by the administration last December that requires all researchers to include the cost of graduate student tuition in grants.

New skin promotes wound healing
Bioengineers at UB and Shriners Burns Hospital-Boston have created a genetically engineered skin that expresses a protein that promotes wound healing. It is believed to be the only artificial tissue designed to express keratinocyte growth factor, KGF.
