Center for the Arts


The Center for the Arts is a major cultural and artistic hub for the entire region and is a popular community destination for the performing and visual arts. The Center houses a diverse mix of display and performance spaces including the 1,748-seat Mainstage Theatre, 388-seat Drama Theatre, 185-seat experimental Black Box Theatre, 210-seat Screening Room, video production and sound studios, the University gallery, a student art gallery, and two dance/performance studios. It also houses the Departments of Visual Studies and Media Study, and provides classroom, workshop, and performance space for the Department of Theatre & Dance. The Center has a full time staff that promotes and supports the various artistic programs.
