Alumni Arena (ALUMNI) - North Campus, Arts & Athletics Sector

Alumni Arena
Alumni Arena is the world-class home for many of UB Athletics's thrilling Division I events. The building was constructed in two phases beginning in 1982. The 1985 addition included a gymnastics area, activity rooms, locker rooms, and racket ball courts. Alumni Arena also includes a 6,100-seat gym for basketball, wrestling or volleyball—also the site of commencement and lectures—and a 50-meter 1.2-million-gallon Olympic-size pool. (Read more at the UB Archives.)
Namesake
Former UB president Steven Sample wanted Alumni Arena to engender UB spirit within the greater university community. Reflecting this motivation, the arena was dedicated to all of UB's alumni.
