Career Services place to find student workers

UB units looking for work-study students or student assistants can find qualified workers through UB Career Services.

Any office can post a vacancy for student employment using Career Services’ BullsEye online system. To advertise a vacancy, visit the Career Services’ website to create an account in Bullseye and list your position.

Work study positions will go live in mid-August.

Offices also can take part in Career Services’ On-Campus Job Fair, being held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Aug. 24 in the Student Union Social Hall in conjunction with Opening Weekend. The job fair is an ideal opportunity to let students know about both work-study and student assistant vacancies in campus offices.

Registration is free, but space is limited.

Parking lots to be closed for paving

The Furnas and Stadium parking lots on the North Campus will be closed either the week of July 30 or the week of Aug. 6 for paving and restriping.

The work originally had been scheduled to be done the week of July 9.

Faculty and staff who usually park in the Furnas lot may park in the Jarvis lots across White Road. Those who use the Stadium lot will find available parking in the Arena or Alumni lots.

UUP offers discount tickets to parks

Faculty and staff who want to purchase discount tickets to Darien Lake and Fantasy Island from the Buffalo Center Chapter of United University Professions should be aware that the union office will be closed July 30 through Aug. 12. The office will reopen on Aug. 13.

The tickets, which are good for use any day, include all rides, shows, admission to the waterpark and free parking at both parks.

The cost for Darien Lake tickets is $26.99; Fantasy Island tickets are $16.95.

Tickets may be purchased from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15.p.m. Monday through Thursday in the UUP office in 326 Crofts Hall, North Campus. Payment should be made by check or money order made out to UUP/Buffalo Center Chapter. Exact amount only, please.
