  • Join colleagues at University Club

Faculty and staff can join their colleagues to share ideas and make new friends at the weekly meetings of the University Club, held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesdays during the academic year in the Tiffin Room in the Student Union, North Campus.

The fall semester meetings will run through Dec. 7, with the exception of Nov. 23.

Complimentary light refreshments will be available.

The University Club is sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Faculty Senate and the Professional Staff Senate.

  • Take the Commuter Challenge

UB’s third annual Commuter Challenge is under way, and members of the university community are urged to help reduce UB’s carbon footprint by using sustainable forms of transportation to get to work and school.

Faculty, staff and students who walk, bike, carpool or take the NFTA Metro or UB Stampede to UB’s three campuses can log their travel online and be eligible to earn prizes.

Participants should visit the Commuter Challenge website every Friday during September and click the link on the left side of the page to log how they arrived on campus.

For each commute using one of the modes of transportation noted above, participants receive a point. For each additional mode of green travel on the daily commute, they receive an extra half-point.

Anyone earning as few as three points a week will be eligible to win prizes at the end of the challenge.

The UB Commuter Challenge is sponsored by UB Green and the Office of the Vice President for University Life and Services.
