  • New bus route serves North Campus

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority has instituted a new bus route that provides service to and from the North Campus for residents of Kenmore and the Tonawandas.

The new route, #35 Sheridan, runs from Flint Loop to Maple Road, Maple to Alberta Drive, Alberta to Sheridan Drive, Sheridan to Sheridan-Parkside Drive, Sheridan-Parkside to Ensminger Road, Ensminger to Cooper Avenue, Cooper back to Sheridan Drive, Sheridan to River Road and River Road to the Vulcan Street bus loop.

The new service is eligible for the NYSRIDE program that allows UB employees to pay for a monthly pass ($64) with pre-tax dollars, which works out to about $45 per month for unlimited travel on the NFTA metro system. Students are not eligible for the NYSRIDE program.

  • EAP to hold Financial Resource Fair

UB’s Employee Assistance Program will hold its first ever Financial Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus.

The fair is free and open to all UB employees and their family members.

EAP has found that one of the major sources of employee stress is worrying about financial needs, according to Deborah Hard, EAP administrator. The fair is designed to provide access to information to assist employees in making sound financial decisions, she says.

Representatives from numerous vendors, including MetLife, Waddell & Reed financial advisors, John Hancock, TIAA-CREF, Legend Advisory Corp., New York State Deferred Compensation Plan and UB Human Resources will be available to meet with participants.

For more information and to register for the fair and individual sessions with vendors, visit the EAP website.

Bruce Acker says:

This will be very convenient, allowing connections with busses crossing Sheridan and going down Colvin, Delaware, and Elmwood, as well as increased access to shopping in the Boulevard Mall and Northtown shopping areas. Good choice for a new route.
