  • Sign up for Day of caring

UB faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the 18th annual Day of Caring, to be held on Aug. 18.

UB volunteers this year will be working from a central hub site in the Buffalo Niagara Medical Corridor. Among the tasks volunteers will be performing are painting (interior and exterior), landscaping, cleaning and clearing pathways.

All Day of Caring participants will receive two complimentary tickets to the UB vs. University of Central Florida football game on Sept. 18. Additional tickets will be available for purchase at a discounted rate of $10. Kick-off is 7 p.m.; other festivities celebrating the UB and WNY Communities and the Employees Campaign for the Community also will take place.

UB’s participation in Day of Caring—Western New York’s largest community service event—“reaffirms our vital connection with the larger Western New York community—not just on one day, but through the year,” notes Scott Nostaja, senior vice president and chief operations officer. The event also is “a great way to build camaraderie among our UB volunteers as we work together in support of our communities,” Nostaja says.
