Deadline looms for Corporate Challenge

The registration deadline is May 22 for faculty and staff interested in joining the UB team for the 29th annual JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, to be held June 4 in Delaware Park.

The 3.5-mile run/walk starts at 6:45 p.m.; team photo is taken at 6 p.m. Proceeds benefit Local Initiatives Support Corporation and the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.

After the race, the UB team will gather for a tent party. The theme this year is UB spirit.

The $30 fee (plus a 1.75 service charge) includes race entry, a special UB Corporate Challenge T-shirt, the official Corporate Challenge T-shirt and food and drink at the tent party.

Due to liability issues, only UB employees may join the UB team.

The Professional Staff Senate is providing free bus transportation to Delaware Park from the North and South campuses. To reserve a spot on a bus, email your campus location to jrgarcia@buffalo.edu.

Register for Business Day 2009

Business Day 2009: Building the Bridge to Success, the annual day of training, information gathering and networking presented by University Business Services, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 4 in the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus.

The event will feature workshop sessions on a variety of business topics, among them fraud awareness, UB Jobs, HR service center and state account management.

In addition, UB and vendor information tables will be available, as well as the latest in green technology and products.

Workshop to address ADHD, autism

Learn more about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and the autism spectrum disorders at a free workshop offered by the Employee Assistance Program.

“Caring for Special Needs Children,” will be presented from 9 a.m. to noon June 3 in 142 Crofts Hall, North Campus. Leading the workshop will be Gregory Fabiano, assistant professor of counseling, school and education psychology and a specialist in ADHD, and David Meichenbaum, of the WNY Regional Center on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
