Parking and Transportation Services has renewed its designation as an Accredited Parking Organization (APO) with Distinction, a recognition that places UB among a select group of parking and mobility organizations distinguished for excellence in operations, customer service, sustainability, professional development, safety and risk management.
Awarded by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI), the designation recognizes organizations that demonstrate a sustained commitment to industry best practices and continuous improvement.
“This achievement is the top benchmark of success in our industry, and it follows a comprehensive documentation and review process,” says Shawn Conrad, CEO of IPMI. “Only best-of-class organizations can meet the demanding level of excellence required to gain accreditation.”
To earn accreditation, organizations undergo a rigorous third-party review and provide evidence of achievement across more than 100 criteria spanning 14 operational categories. The Distinction designation recognizes organizations that meet more than 60 additional best practices beyond the requirements for standard accreditation.
“This reaccreditation reflects the strong standards our Parking and Transportation Services team maintains every day,” says Laura Hubbard, vice president for finance and administration. “Their commitment to safety, service and continuous improvement supports the experience of our campus community and aligns with the university's broader goals.”
Organizations must renew their accreditation every three years, demonstrating their continued commitment to meeting evolving industry standards and best practices.
Through ongoing assessment and innovation, UB Parking and Transportation Services continues to enhance the campus experience while supporting the university's mission and strategic priorities.
