Waymo, the self-driving car company and subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, will bring one of its robotaxis to the North Campus on Monday.

The company, which operates its taxis in California, Arizona, Texas and Georgia, will not be offering rides. But the UB community is invited to check out the vehicle, says Stephen Still, professor of practice in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering.

The car will be on display from noon until 5 p.m. on Mary Talbert Way outside Bonner Hall.

Waymo has been testing its taxis in the Buffalo area since at least 2024, when the company brought a car to South Campus for a class that Still was teaching.
