Power Authority CEO to speak at UB

Justin E. Driscoll, president and CEO of the New York Power Authority (NYPA), will examine the future of nuclear power in New York State during a fireside chat on Dec. 1 hosted by the UB Nuclear in Clean Energy (NiCE) club in coordination with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

The talk will take place from 5-6 p.m. in 330 Student Union, North Campus. It is free and open to the public.

Kemper Lewis, dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, will deliver opening remarks; Jeffrey Errington, professor and chair of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, will moderate the discussion.

During his talk, Driscoll will discuss the future of New York’s power grid, the state’s CLCPA (Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act) climate goals and the launch of UB’s new nuclear engineering minor.
