The School of Law’s Center for the Advancement of Sport will host a discussion with Daniel Milstein, the NHL’s “superagent” for numerous prominent Russian players, from noon to 1 p.m. March 18 via Zoom.

Born in the Ukraine, Milstein now holds a unique role in hockey due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Milstein’s rags-to-riches success story, along with his central role negotiating contracts for some of the NHL’s star players, give him special insight into the challenges currently faced by Russian athletes.

"The Center for the Advancement of Sport is honored to host the NHL’s preeminent super-agent for Russian players, Daniel Milstein,” says Nellie Drew, professor of practice in sports law and director of the sports center. “Mr. Milstein has a unique perspective as a Ukrainian émigré who is now a successful NHL agent for Russian players.

“His insight into the challenges Russian athletes are experiencing due to the invasion of the Ukraine offers a vivid picture into the conflict and its fallout both inside the country and for the world at large.”

The event, co-hosted by the UB Law Alumni Association, is free and open to all alumni, students and faculty. Register here. A Zoom link will be sent in your registration confirmation email.
