EAP offering new support groups

Published June 15, 2021

UB’s Employee Assistance Program is offering two new support groups to provide emotional, educational and social support for UB employees.

The COVID support group is open to those who themselves have had COVID-19 or have experienced COVID-19 through a loved one, and wish to discuss their thoughts, fears, challenges, hopes and anything else related to the coronavirus.

Meetings will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month; the first meeting is scheduled for June 17. For further information and/or to sign up, contact Neil McGillicuddy at 645-4458 or nm23@buffalo.edu.

The grief support group is open to faculty and staff members who have experienced the loss of someone significant to them. Group members will discuss how the loss has impacted them, offer insights on the grief process, share experiences and relieve feelings of isolation as members support one another. For further information and/or to sign up, contact Sue Bagdasarian at 645-8167 or sb14@buffalo.edu.

EAP also offers monthly support groups for caregivers and parents, and those dealing with chronic illness and workplace stress. For more information, contact Bagdasarian (chronic illness and caregiver) or McGillicuddy (parenting and workplace stress).
