Free soil amendment during Earth Week

Published April 17, 2020

Campus Dining and Shops invites all members of the UB community to pick up nutrient-rich soil amendment, free of charge, for use in flower and vegetable gardens or as a compost supplement.

The free soil amendment is a blend of pre- and post-consumer food waste from UB Dining locations. The mixture contains scraps from fruits, vegetables, coffee grounds, breads and meats that have gone through an Eco-Smart Food Dehydrator system.

Free soil amendment can be picked up any time next week, April 20-26, at Statler Commissary, located near the Center for Tomorrow and accessible from the Maple and Flint roads entrance to the North Campus.

The soil amendment comes pre-packed in 2-gallon plastic containers and is limited to three per person. The containers will be on a pallet outside the commissary and available on a first come/first serve basis, while supplies last.

There is no admittance into the building.
