North Campus traffic, parking advisory for Friday, Nov. 15

Published November 15, 2019

Due to a relocation of a major national athletic event to UB’s North Campus, some parking lots and entrances to the North Campus will be temporarily impacted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.

UB is serving as host institution for the 2019 NCAA Northeast Cross Country Regionals. The original site for the event was the Audubon Golf Course in Amherst. However, due to inclement winter weather on Monday and into Tuesday, course conditions were impacted, creating hazardous conditions for the participants.

The course will start and finish near UB Stadium and will travel along sections of the following roadways: Audubon Parkway, White, Hadley, Rensch, Frontier, and Augspurger roads, and St. Rita’s Lane, as well as the Hamilton Road and Webster Road entrances.

Parking lots adjacent to these roads will be intermittently impacted during the race. Roadways will progressively open as runners get farther along the route.

The university’s goal is to maintain normal operations as much as possible. Please plan extra time during your travel around campus during this time.

  • UB personnel will be in place to help manage traffic patterns and parking.
  • Shuttle service will run as scheduled.
  • Number of participants: approximately 400
  • The following parking lots will be unavailable from 11 p.m. Thursday until 2 p.m. Friday: Arena Lot, Alumni A, LaSalle, Alumni C.
  • The following lots along the route are open. However, entrances and exits to and from these lots will be affected by the race from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. on Friday: Jarvis, Governors A-E, Fronczak A&B, Cooke A&B, Hadley Village, Ketter, Furnas, Bookstore, South Lake Village. UB personnel will be managing traffic to and from these lots.
