UB departments that would like to take part in the university’s annual Adopt a Family initiative should sign up by Nov. 15.

Each holiday season, the Office of Community Relations partners with several neighborhood community centers and organizations to identify local families in need. Participating departments are matched with a family and will be provided with a wish list to help the family in celebrating the holiday season.

Departments interested in taking part should contact Community Relations at 829-3099 or CommunityRelations@buffalo.edu and provide the number of family members your office would be comfortable providing gifts for and a department contact person.

Department contacts will receive information on their families by Nov. 22. The holiday reception with the participating organizations and families will be held the week of Dec. 16. More details will follow.

This year, Adopt a Family is also accepting gift cards from individuals who wish to participate in this program but are not in a department that is sponsoring a family.
