Make an impact at UB Giving Day

Published April 26, 2019

On the fifth annual UB Giving Day, from noon on May 1 to noon on May 2, UB faculty, staff, alumni, students, parents and friends from around the world are asked to unite for one cause — the University at Buffalo.

“Each year, UB Giving Day has grown, and we’ve seen an increase in both the number of donors and the amount raised during the 24-hour period,” said Geoffrey Bartlett, assistant vice president for annual giving. “A successful Giving Day benefits all of us because it means we’re able to put more resources toward programs, emergency aid, equipment and the like that benefit our students, faculty and staff.”

Once again, a number of challenges and matches are in place for Giving Day to help increase the impact of your investment. The President’s Giving Day Challenge will award $15,000 to the UB Fund for the top three academic departments or units that have the greatest number of donors. The first-, second- and third-place units will win $7,500, $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.

And, Provost Charles F. Zukoski and his wife, Barbara Morgan, have generously agreed to match each gift dollar for dollar from current UB faculty and staff who have not made a gift this fiscal year (up to $5,000).

“We are so grateful for faculty and staff support; they have a direct impact on our students and the next chapter in UB’s history,” Bartlett said.
