The legal, social, economic and technical implications for data use and data privacy, particularly within the context of higher education, is the topic of a Date Privacy Forum being held April 8 on the North Campus.

The conference, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Student Union Theatre.

The goal of the forum is to foster cross-disciplinary discussion and debate about the current status of data privacy, expanding technological uses of data, as well as the possible future implications for UB and higher education, according to J. Brice Bible, vice president and chief information officer.

The forum will include three keynote speakers and a moderated panel discussion representing a variety of perspectives, including legal, business and industry, research and the student experience.

A full schedule and list of speakers is available on the UBIT website.
