The Center for Educational Innovation is presenting a workshop designed to help faculty improve their teaching style to better motivate students.

“Engaging Students with Creative Teaching Styles” will take place from 2-3 p.m. April 17 in the Faculty Collaboration Studio, 6 Norton Hall, North Campus. It is part of the center’s Innovative Pedagogy Showcase Series.

The workshop will be led by David Watson, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry and a recipient of last year’s Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Discussion will focus on developing and refining faculty teaching styles, selecting course content to effectively balance “breadth vs. depth,” and establishing trust and a positive rapport with students.

Those wishing to attend are asked to register online.
