UB men’s basketball coach Nate Oats is one of 48 NCAA Division I basketball coaches taking part in the Infiniti “Timeout for the Win” challenge to support the fight against cancer.
Fans can vote for their favorite coach, and the three coaches getting the most votes will receive a portion of a $600,000 donation in their names that Infiniti will make to Coaches vs. Cancer, a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The coach receiving the most votes will have $360,000 donated in his name, the second-place coach will have $150,000 donated in his name and the third-place coach $90,000. All participating coaches will have at least $1,000 donated in their name to Coaches vs. Cancer.
Members of the UB community can vote for Oats via three ways: at InfinitiTimeout.com, on Twitter and on Instagram. Fans can vote up to three times a day, but votes will only count once per day, per person, via each voting method.
Fans voting on social media must post a photo of themselves taking a basketball timeout while including #TIMEOUTFTW in the social copy and #CoachNateOats.
Voting will end at 9 a.m. March 11.
