UB’s Department of Music will open its 2018-19 concert season on Wednesday with its resident chamber ensemble Slee Sinfonietta performing Copeland and Berio. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall, North Campus.

The program will highlight works by Aaron Copland and Luciano Berio, and will feature guest conductor Case Scaglione and soprano Tiffany Du Mouchelle. It is being planned and supported by UB’s Robert & Carol Morris Center for 21st Century Music.

The department will host a faculty recital by percussionist Thomas Kolor, associate professor in the Department of Music, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27, also in the Lippes Concert Hall. It will be the third installment of Kolor’s Parisian Percussion series, and will feature solo percussion works by Jolas, Dufourt, Amy and Xenakis.
