The UB community is invited to a celebration at 11:30 a.m. April 30 for the start of something big — and bold — for the University at Buffalo.

The celebration — with music, games and video — will be held at three locations so members of the university community can join in locations convenient to them:

  • Student Union on the North Campus
  • Harriman Hall on the South Campus
  • Dannenhoffer Learning Landscape in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences on the Downtown Campus.

You can also watch the event on Facebook Live from the UB channel.

President Satish K. Tripathi will make a major, “game-changer” announcement regarding UB during the event. Provost Charles Zukoski will preside on the South Campus and Michael Cain, vice president for health sciences and dean of the Jacobs School, will host downtown.

Following the announcement, Tripathi will lead a countdown to the launch of the fourth annual UB Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising blitz that runs from noon Monday through noon Tuesday, May 1. Every member of the UB community around the globe is invited to imagine the difference their gifts can make collectively. Tripathi; Rod Grabowski, vice president for university advancement; and other senior UB administrators will make the first gifts at special Giving Day stations set up in the Student Union.

This year’s UB Giving Day has set a goal of receiving gifts from 1,846 donors in honor of the year the university was founded.
